Beschreibung

How can the individual production of goods in batch size 1 be implemented, using the example of a cup of coffee? This question is the focus of the presence of the Fraunhofer Institute from Lemgo together with the TH OWL at the it’s OWL joint stand. With the presentation of a miniaturized production line as a coffee machine demonstrator, Fraunhofer will provide insights into the future of flexible, sustainable and fully digitalized production.

The CO2-neutral coffee machine is powered by solar energy, uses biodegradable capsules and utilizes 3D-printed components. Visitors can order the coffee using a QR code and the entire production process is recorded digitally, including energy consumption and carbon footprint. These technologies are transferable to larger production processes and the solutions presented offer more transparency, flexibility and sustainability.
