KEB | Automation with Drive
As a well-known supplier of drive technology, KEB Automation stands for custom-fit automation. Plastics machinery, wood processing, process technology and intralogistics or even wind energy and e-mobility are some of the application areas in which KEB products and solutions are in demand. Whether comprehensive hardware solutions in combination with software functionalities in the area of Control & Automation, reliable drive controllers such as the COMBIVERT F6, powerful motors and gears or high-quality brakes and clutches: KEB offers complete solutions that fit individual needs. The new IIoT and Edge platform NOA goes one step further: with NOA, data can be collected, visualised and processed – and users create their own automation solutions flexibly and easily on the basis of open systems.
KEB has its origins in 1972. Karl-Ernst Brinkmann – in short KEB – founded the company to develop, produce and sell electromagnetic clutches and brakes. In the 1980s, drive technology was added, followed by a plant for geared motors in 1993 and control technology in the 2000s. Today, KEB offers complete automation solutions from a single source. This is also reflected in the company name: in 2017, Karl E. Brinkmann GmbH became KEB Automation.
KEB attaches importance to research and development. The company participates in various research projects and is one of 27 core companies in the top cluster it’s OWL – Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe.
Started with six employees, the company has developed into a globally active medium-sized enterprise with twelve subsidiaries and more than 50 partners worldwide. Over 1,500 employees – around 950 of them at the headquarters in Barntrup (Germany) – work for KEB today. The company is owner-managed in the second family generation.
