Polyoxymethylene (POM)
Polyoxymethylene (POM) is a semi-crystalline, largely linear thermoplastic that can be produced by chain polymerisation or chain copolymerisation. It is one of the typical technical thermoplastics with good mechanical properties and high dimensional stability as well as excellent sliding and wear behavior.
POM is therefore one of the preferred construction materials, e.g. B. for precision parts in precision engineering. The most important areas of application are the automotive industry and electrical engineering, followed by general device and mechanical engineering and applications in the consumer goods sector.
