Ingenieure ohne Grenzen e.V. is a non-profit and independent development cooperation organisation. We support people where technical cooperation is necessary and possible, especially by providing basic infrastructural needs in the areas of water, electricity and sanitation.
In joint projects with local partners at schools and in rural communities, we develop and implement practical and professional solutions in the areas of water, electricity and sanitation. We use regional materials wherever possible and adapt our solutions to local conditions. Our projects are only successfully completed when local people are able to continue them on their own – according to the principle of helping people to help themselves.
Domestically, we build bridges between cultures: For people with refugee experiences and migration backgrounds, we conduct technical language courses, apply the acquired knowledge together in technical workshops and look for ways to enable entry into the German labour market.
The foundation of our work is voluntary commitment. This enables us to bundle the most diverse competences and to work in an interdisciplinary way. Our volunteers have very different qualifications: Engineers, geologists, sociologists, economists and business economists, communication experts and many others support the interdisciplinary work of the association with their competences. They work selflessly and with enthusiasm for the cause.
We are financed by membership fees, donations from private individuals and companies, and foundation funds.
With their donations, our donors and sustaining members place great trust in us. In order to do justice to this, we have clear allocation guidelines. This applies to the use of both monetary donations and donations in kind. We guarantee an economical and efficient use of the funds entrusted to us.
