On June 11, 247TailorSteel’s newest branch in Hooglede, Belgium, was officially opened. Around a hundred invited guests attended the event to get to know the new production facility. This provided customers, partners and suppliers with an excellent opportunity to take a tour.

Carl Berlo, CEO of 247TailorSteel, explained: “This newest branch in Belgium guarantees optimal accessibility for customers in Belgium and Northern France. We are therefore very happy that we can use it to strengthen our market position.”

The first symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 20, 2022. One year later, on October 2, 2023, production began. The first machines were put into operation and a new team of more than 60 employees was hired. The plant has five laser cutting machines, two tube lasers, four press brakes and two edge processing machines. In the long term, 250 new jobs are to be created there.

Mayor Frederik Demeyere emphasized: “For the municipality, the establishment of 247TailorSteel means a strengthening of the metalworking industry that has developed over generations. With the opening of this branch, metal products will be delivered in the shortest possible time, on demand, on time and directly from the heart of West Flanders.”

The 17,000 m² production facility was designed by the Roeselare-based architectural firm Vandamme Vandeputte. With the knowledge and experience from the other plants, a production site was designed that puts efficiency first. The facility differs from conventional factory halls with trees (one for each machine) and a light-flooded production hall. A pleasant working environment is important and noticeable here.
