Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG is a leading global supplier of fastening and assembly materials with a wide range of products for trade and industry. The company is headquartered in Künzelsau, Germany, and employs more than 78,000 people in over 80 countries.
Würth has set itself the goal of offering tailor-made solutions that support individual requirements and configurations. The first step was to digitally map the screw product range in the field of fastening technology. To do this, Bechtle PLM has developed a screw and product configurator that enables Würth to quickly and easily create and adapt different screw types and sizes. The configurator is accessible via a web interface and allows screws to be configured according to individual requirements. Existing CAD models and drawings serve as the basis for the configuration and are a valuable support, also in the development of new products. The first successes were already apparent after a one-month test phase. “DriveWorks makes model creation easier and automates it,” Ascher continues.
“Würth is an example of a company that is optimizing its business processes with DriveWorks and will thus strengthen its market position,” continues Thomas Wiesmann. “With the support of Bechtle PLM Deutschland GmbH, Würth has acquired the knowledge and expertise to successfully use DriveWorks’ automation solution and manage Würth’s product variants. With DriveWorks, Würth will remain strong for the future and will also be able to offer its customers added value later on,” says Wiesmann happily.
