In OstWestfalenLippe, business and science work closely together with numerous initiatives and innovation networks to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digital and sustainable transformation. The leading-edge cluster it’s OWL and many other research projects provide the basis, transfer mediators, such as those from the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Ruhr-OWL, offer tailor-made services for SMEs and OstWestfalenLippe GmbH is the network hub where everything comes together. The focus is on the application of innovative approaches for AI and digitalization, circular economy and sustainable business models, energy supply and resource efficiency as well as the working world of the future. The presentation will use examples to highlight recommendations for action and specific support services for increasing the competitiveness of SMEs.
